In his book "Stop trying to live for Jesus (let Him live through you)", Charles Price notes how many evangelical churches today preach a gospel that gets people to 'invite Jesus into their lives' and later on to 'make Him Lord of their lives'.

In fact this is not a biblical principle at all, and Jesus always made the invitation to 'follow me', or 'take up your cross daily and follow me', and He even turned away the rich young ruler who could not or would not meet His criteria for being His disciple. It was definately on His terms!

While thinking and praying about this, God challenged me with this thought - If I asked Jesus to come and live at my house, He would be my guest and He would have to live by my rules. I would expect Him to respect my wishes and treat me and my property accordingly.

However, if I was invited to come and live at His house, I would be His guest and have to live by His rules and treat Him with due respect etc. etc.

Paul says in Ephesians 2 v 6 of the christians he was writing to, 'And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus'. We are 'in Christ' first and foremost because of His invitation to us, and then from that position 'in Him' we have the privilege of also having Him live in us by His Spirit.

The fact is that Jesus is Lord whether we agree with that statement or not. One day everybody will have to admit that.

When we realise who invited us, where we are seated, and whose presence we have with us, it will affect the way we live.

Is a song a Christian song because of who wrote it? Who inspired it? What it says?

I've been wondering if it even matters what the intention of the song was, if its lyrics are worshipful, doesn't that alone qualify it? How about this one....

One of the few prayers that Jesus prayed for us that was written down...........that we might live in complete unity with each other and the Father. In 1 Corinthians 1 verses 10 -13 Paul has to appeal to the church to be united following differences in their following of different leaders.

Is life in the church very different today? Lets get back to basics - Love God and love each other. UNITY is good Smiley

An art4charity promotion day. An event where equality reigns. Professionals and self taught/street artists coming together. Promoting the artists, viewing the talent and having one really enjoyable day. There is so much to see. Many things for the kids and a fun day in raising money to help the homeless off the streets,to help dysfunctional famlies, to meet new people and get involved in the charity.
